Miscellaneous manuscripts, 1786-1787.

Consists of two letters: one dated 7 January 1786, New York, to the Sieur de la Forest, confirming Forest's appointment as Vice-Consul General of the Kingdom of France to the United States; and one letter of 28 August 1787, New York, to George Fox of Philadelphia, secretary of the Society for Political Enquiries. This second letter was franked with Jay's signature in lieu of postage.
